چکیده

This paper is devoted to the construction of a new fast-to-evaluate model for prediction 2D crack paths in concrete-like microstructures. The generates piecewise linear cracks with segmentation points selected using Markov chain model. kernel involves local indicators mechanical interest and its parameters are learnt from numerical full-field simulations cracking cohesive-volumetric finite element solver called XPER. does not include any elements. It database, derived XPER crack, that contains information optimizes probabilistic resulting exhibits drastic improvement CPU time comparison

Crack path prediction in anisotropic brittle materials.

A force balance condition to predict quasistatic crack paths in anisotropic brittle materials is derived from an analysis of diffuse interface continuum models that describe both short-scale failure and macroscopic linear elasticity. The path is uniquely determined by the directional anisotropy of the fracture energy, independent of details of the failure process. The derivation exploits the gr...

A dynamic lattice model for heterogeneous materials

In this paper, the mechanical behavior of three-phase inhomogeneous materials is modeled using the meso-scale model with lattice beams for static and dynamic analyses. The Timoshenko beam theory is applied instead of the classical Euler-Bernoulli beam theory and the mechanical properties of lattice beam connection are derived based on the continuum medium using the non-local continuum theory. T...

Propagation of Crack in Linear Elastic Materials with Considering Crack Path Correction Factor

Modeling of crack propagation by a finite element method under mixed mode conditions is of prime importance in the fracture mechanics. This article describes an application of finite element method to the analysis of mixed mode crack growth in linear elastic fracture mechanics. Crack - growth process is simulated by an incremental crack-extension analysis based on the maximum principal stress c...

Validation of SUTRA Model for Different Salinity Transport Scenarios in a Heterogeneous Sand Tank to Evaluate Transverse Dispersivity

Nowadays, with the increasing population in Iran, especially in arid and semi-arid areas, as a result of the growing importance of the quality of water resources, including groundwater, field experiments and many simulations have been conducted for the development of groundwater contamination through powerful and up- to- date software. However, in most cases, there is a tangible difference betw...
